The Family Council is delighted to announce its collaboration with the Association whatSport.

The collaboration will cover media and communications backing, strategic workshops, impact data collection, and the financial support of the Association’s “La République des Sports” programme.

This programme offers young migrants and local young people for whom sport has been recommended as a way to overcome demanding or challenging situations the opportunity to interact and learn from each other through sports activities and camps, facilitating their integration and general wellbeing, as well as the development of personal and professional skills.

As part of its support to La République des Sports programme, the Foundation will sponsor ten spots at its multi-sport summer camp in Fiesch (VS) and another ten spots for their winter camp in Vallée de Joux (VD). Members of the Family Council will also volunteer as associate coaches during the summer camp.

ViaTalenta Foundation’s Executive Committee is pleased to announce Ben Wolstenholme as a contributor to the Foundation’s “Reflections through People” capsule collection.

Ben Wolstenholme is a British-born artists, designer and director who has lived in the US for the last 10 years. Drawing inspiration from the events surrounding the “Black Lives Matter” movement, he began to question his own privilege and explore ways to create awareness through art.

His decision to educate himself further on the Civil Rights Movement and the work of other contemporary black figures has taken him on a journey of self-reflection, awareness and empathy. The result is a collection of fourteen water-coloured portraits of artists, thinkers, writers, icons and representatives of Civil Rights in the 20th and 21st century.

“It is a real challenge to cast into someone else’s shoes and behold obstacles you have never considered or encountered. It makes being empathetic difficult. By focusing on these people, seeing the world through their eyes and reading part of their stories, I have been on a revealing and unforgettable journey – one that has just started.

The Family Council has announced the launch of their capsule collection “Reflections through People”.  This collection is part of the ImpactArt portfolio.

Through the commissioning and artists’ donation, “Reflections through People” will look at themes such as climate change, ethnicity, gender equality, wellness, food security, migration, pandemics to name a few. The aim is to explore societal challenges and their implications on representation and opportunities available to the populations.

Through this capsule collection, the Foundation’s seeks to promote the acknowledgement of different realities, encourage self-reflection and facilitate an open debate among members of our communities.

Members of the Executive Committee of ViaTalenta Foundation and the family office attended this past Saturday 23rd November the annual “Bal de la Fondation Champittet”. This year, the fundraising efforts were in favour of the “Association Sportive Fair Play”. This association focuses on developing sports programmes for people with disabilities across all ages and capability levels.

They provide opportunities to interact with others, strengthen one’s self-esteem, and facilitate acceptance and integration. We were impressed with the important work the Association Sportive Fair Play is doing and would like to thank the Fondation Champittet’s team for hosting us one more year.”

The Family Council is pleased to announce its support to the migrant integration efforts of the “Sport & Migrants Mineurs” at the FIBA 3×3 World Tour event in Lausanne. Through a dedicated session with professional basketball coaches, young migrants were introduced to the sport and given the opportunity to train with local, young basketball team members. Both Giovanni and Giulio Pauen, who play in the Pully-Lausanne Foxes basketball teams, participated in this inclusive event.

The Executive Committee is pleased to announce the official conclusion of Collège Champittet’s “Year of Sustainability” – a 2018-2019 Education & Outreach programme. Ranging from introducing aquaponics in the primary school classrooms to processing food waste into organic fertilizer for the campus, the programme provided an educational insight on sustainability in everyday life. This was further enhanced by the MIT STEAM programmes running in parallel.
